Pantai Pasir Hitam (Black Sand Beach)
This beach is noted for its black sand, although it's not a real black-sand, just streaks of black through the sand caused by a spring that deposits mineral oxides.
Surprisingly, there is no colourful tale to account for its appearance, and is really a very contrived attraction.
Right: An enthusiastic tourist at
the Pantai Pasir Hitam beach.
